living in florence: weekly wrap-up

Ciao! It's been a little while since we did a wrap-up post, so we thought it would be a great opportunity to put together some of the highlights from the last couple of weeks.

• We started a new Expat interview series and it's way cool (and apparently very popular). We've talked to Elizabeth Minchilli, Sara Rosso and Michelle Fabio.
• We redecorated our office about two months ago and finally got around to posting about it: here's part one and part two.
• Rob was in total heaven when Mille Miglia rolled into town.
• When Rob's mom was in town we finally got around to visiting Fiesole. It was gorgeous!
• Wondering how much it costs to live in Italy? We tried to write an honest post about what it takes (financially) to live here.

This week was...busy! Class is in full swing, work is keeping us very busy, and we've been out exploring the city a ton. We took a tour yesterday of the Vasari Corrider and can't wait to share the photos with you. In the meantime, check out the greatest hits from this past week.

Another busy week, more great fun and food, movement on dual citizenship, and slowly starting to settle in to our new life. What a week its been!

• We took Winston on a walk at dusk and marveled at the beautiful view
• It's only funny in retrospect...we entertained you with the story of Day 1 in Italy
• Found a use for stale bread and made some seriously delicious papa al pomodoro
• Recounted our first and second (positive!) encounters with the Italian government
• Came clean about our obsession with la torta.
• Shared photos of a hidden, greener Florence.

What a busy week it's been! A few highlights...

• Stocking up on delicious groceries and splurging for an espresso machine on Day 2.
• Wandering the streets in search of free WiFi and snapping lots of photos in the process
• Being touristy and grabbing overpriced gelato near the Duomo.
• Making super yummy lunches on the fly.
• A free lecture on Machiavelli at the British Institute (followed by free wine post-lecture)
• Watching Winston blend effortlessly into Italian dog culture.
• Trying not to OD on dried fruit.
