Golf on the Ponte Vecchio

December was such a busy month that I never got around to sharing these neat photos of a golf tournament on the Ponte Vecchio. They place a bunch of green islands in the river (of varying degrees of difficulty) and golfers try to land on them. We watched for about a half hour and only saw one person make it on the furthest green!

I just wanted to let you know that I just found your blog and spend the last two days inhaling it. I actually read all the way back to the beginning post! It was wonderful. I'm going (by myself!!) to Florence in the fall and I have been a little apprehensive being there by myself. But, in reading your posts, my fears fell away (mostly) and now I am just so excited to experience Florence. So, thank you for renewing my excitement and commitment to visiting Florence, even if I am by myself. And best wishes to Winston and his eyes!
